Barack Obama Wins It

Barack Obama has won the US Presidential race with a resounding majority of the electorate voting for him and has achieve a landslide victory over his opponent John McCain in the electoral college votes. The turnout for the election  (when all is counted) will probably be the highest turnout ever.

Obama was declared the winner by most networks just after 4am soon after the California polls had closed. Prior to this Barack Obama had taken the important battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia.

His opponent John McCain took to the stage in Arizona to makehis concession speech and he congratulated Mr Obama on his historic victory. Barack Obama will be the first African American President of the United States of America.
