If you’re in Europe, you may find traveling long haul a bit of a chore and quite expensive this summer. Long gone it seems are those deals where you could fly last minute for £100. Nowadays this seems to be more like £350-400 per person at the very least. Although some travel agents in Britain last week were offering travellers looking for last minute deals accommodation for £2 per night, however once the extras were added, the cost of the last minute holiday, including flights, taxes and surcharges was still heading north of £350.

If you’re looking for somewhere to go last minute this week, why not try traveling to Italy. Accommodation in the larger cities we’ve heard are going very cheap as most Italians head of Ferragosto.

Indeed if you’re Italian and looking for last minute ferragosto deals, perhaps the best place to look is online where the most cut throat pricing is happening.
