FDA Approves Huntington’s Disease Drug Xenazine

The US Food and Drug Administration haveĀ  for the first time, approved a new drug that helps to combat the symptoms of Huntington’s disease, a rare inherited disease that affects about 30,000 people in the USA.

The drug which known as Xenazine, will not cure the disease, and has some serious side effects, including an increased risk of suicide, however the benefits are said to make life for a sufferer of Huntingtons much better.

Sufferers who have disease experience uncontrolled movements known as chorea, deterioration of mental abilities and is fatal.
